ABOUT THE STAMPS

British Levant - the back shows a clean, slightly yellowish tone consistent with the original adhesive (gum) applied in 1921. There is no heavy hinge remnant or deep staining, though there appears to be a very faint, light disturbance near the top center where a stamp hinge may have been lightly applied in the past ( Mint Lightly Hinged ).

Watermark: If you look very closely at the center, you can see the faint, translucent indentation of the "GvR" (George V Rex) Royal Cypher watermark , which was standard for Great Britain high-value definitive stamps of this era.

There is a faint pencil notation in the bottom left corner reading "54". It is incredibly common for historical stamp dealers or auction houses to write catalog numbers or prices lightly in pencil on the back of valuable stamps
