ABOUT THE STAMPS
There is quite a few inherently rare or exceptionally valuable about Plate 188 of the Great Britain Queen Victoria 1d Penny Red (categorised under Stanley Gibbons SG 43 or SG 44).
Unlike famously rare plates in this series, such as the mythical Plate 77 or the scarce Plate 225, Plate 188 was a standard production plate but is still not a quite common.
While a basic Plate 188 stamp is NOT common, specific examples can carry a premium if they feature specialized errors or historical markings like missperforations: Stamps where the perforation sheets shifted, cutting off the design or putting the value text at the top.
IMPORTANT INFORMATIONPlease be aware check whether on the stamp is any overprint. With every overprint you must be aware that forgeries are around therefore, to be 100% sure if stamp does not have attest completed, do that for your peace of mind. Stamp sold as seen.LEGAL DISCLAIMER
