mark. This mechanical hand-stamp device combined a circular town/date stamp alongside a thick barred numeral obliterator "killer" ring into one unified unit. Postal workers struck the envelope once, hitting the stamp with the heavy bars to permanently invalidate it while stamping the date safely beside it. Duplex date stamp reads August 2, 1867, it appears, having in mind that the plate 163 not existing until 1873, the date stamp reads AU 2 74(August 2, 1874).IMPORTANT INFORMATIONPlease be aware check whether on the stamp is any overprint.
