ABOUT THE STAMPS

This is a 5 Pfennig green official stamp issued by the historical German kingdom of Württemberg. First released in 1875, it belongs to a specialized category known as communal official stamps ( Kommunale Dienstmarken ).

Rather than standard mail, these stamps were exclusively used by local municipal and communal authorities for official administrative business.

The unique diamond-shaped frame and concentric lettering reveal the stamp's functional history:

"PORTO-PFLICHTIGE" (Top left & right corners): Translates to "Liable for postage" .
"DIENST-SACHE" (Bottom left & right corners): Translates to "Official / Service matter" .
"POST-FREI-MARKE" (Inner top circle): Translates to "Postage-free stamp" , indicating a specific regional postal privilege framework.
"5 PFENNIG" (Centre ring): The numeric value and denomination of the stamp
